Terratec EWX 24/96

A so called "pro-sumer" sound card, it can sample at high frequency and at a high band width. It has low enough latency to be used for the output of a software synth or the analog to digital converter of a software hard drive recording system. It has only 2 ins but as I never record more than one source at once that is no loss for me. Here are some tips about setting this card up.

It is related to the successful terratec cards EWS96 etc.

Pro

  • Samples at 24 bit at 96 Khz.

  • Has optical outputs and inputs for dat and other digital gear.

Con

  • Fiddley game port midi connection.

  • No audio cd attachment (makes the card less noisy).

  • No breakout box.
